Acro 1 (Summer)
Ages 7+ Acrobatic dance or “Acro” is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a modern dance context. Dancers will work on improving flexibility, balance and core strength, while developing tumbling skills. MISS MEARA IS CERTIFIED IN ACROBATIC ARTS

This class is designed for students who will train in the Cecchetti method. Students will take a test at the end in order to receive an official certification.

Summer Session 10 Weeks; Cecchetti training pays careful attention to the laws of anatomy. It develops all of the qualities essential to the dancer: balance, poise, strength, elevation, elasticity, “ballon”, etc. It is classic in its purity and clear-cut style.

Summer Session 10 Weeks; Open to level 2 dancers These classes incorporate traditional and classical styles, while emphasizing a modern perspective on dance. Contemporary focuses on strengthening the core muscles, improving breathing skills and expanding flexibility, while emphasizing across the floor movement and choreography with combinations. Student will learn pioneer art forms, theory, history, improvisation methods, parallel swings, and increase their understanding of the mechanics / alignment of the body.

Floor Barre promotes the control of core, rotation, and back muscles. Ballet barre steps are adapted to a sitting or laying position on the floor, to enhance the ability to find deep muscles and strengthen them for when you are standing.

Ballet Level 3 Class with 45 min Pointe. If not on pointe, will continue class on flat shoes. Counts as two classes for tuition.

Contemporary Ballet is a form of dance that incorporates both classical ballet and modern dance. Dancers will use their classical ballet technique while exploring contemporary movements, including floor work and playing with off balance coordination. This is a great supplemental class for ballet dancers to grow in their versatility and expression. Dancers must be Ballet Level 2 or higher to take this class.

Teacher recommendation required. Dancer must be concurrently enrolled in a minimum of 2 additional Ballet classes (level 2 or higher).

Ages 10 & up. Dancers will work on strengthening and toning areas for improvement in technique, turns, jumps as well as building stamina and endurance to further their dance training.
